Battlefield Bad Company Is Coming to TV

Fox To Develop Action TV Series Based On Video Game ‘Battlefield: Bad Company’

Today EA Games scored big. Their hit game Battlefield: Bad Company got picked up by Fox today in hopes to make it into an hour long show. Just like the game, it will follow Private Preston Marlowe, Private Terrence Sweetwater,Private George Gordon Haggard, Jr, and Sergeant Samuel D. Redford in their comedic quest. The show will made by John Eisendrath, Sony TV, and studio-based Happy Madison.
The reason this is so important is because of the fan base of  Battlefield: Bad Company. Personally, it is in my top favorite games of all times, and at the time it came out it introduced a new style of war game. The fan base is so large that I don't doubt that a single fan of the game will miss it. This game had the potential to bring a new wave of war shows to television.
As a consumer I want to see this show. I want it to be great and inspire the sam love I had for the game when it first came out. This also effects me as a future filmmaker. This show can lead to a bright new future of video game-based shows. This will potentially open up many doors for writers, gamers, and filmmakers alike.
What I desperately want to know is how this show will turn out. Will it be a bad representation of Battlefield: Bad Company, disgracing its name, or will it shed new light on a virtually untapped market?

  1. I may not be that much of a gamer, but the trailer seems like it'll be a successful show. I want to watch it, and this game based show seems solid honestly.

    1. If you have a PS3 or XBOX360 you NEED to play this game. It is one of the greatest war games of all times.

  2. This sounds like a really cool show. I have a feeling it will be little or nothing like the plot of the video game though. Just a hunch.

    1. Yeah I know. But hopefully it isn't a complete bastardization of the game.

  3. I know about Battlefield. I just haven't exactly played it yet. It's fascinating how the film industry is making films out of pretty much everything. They've based movies out of books, board games, and now, video games. Anything to make money, I guess.

  4. I personally wouldn't watch it but I'm sure a high percentage of gamers will enjoy this and ratings will be at a descent percentage. I also agree with Jachelle, many filmmakers make their films based on novels and video games but they have been successful.
