The Hobbit crowd complains of dizzy spells, nausea
Viewers at early screenings of the Hobbit became nauseas while watching it in 3DHFR. 3DFR movies play a twice the FPS as regular movies to give a "more realistic feel" and "better quality". The people that watched it said it made them dizzy and looked really jumpy at times. It was even accused of strobing at certain points of the movie. Peter Jackson disagrees because it gives such a smooth 3D image.
This article is important because it doesn't sou d real. Peter Jackson and George Lucas have been pushing to get 3DHFR standard for all theaters because of its superior clarity. It leads me to believe the report is fake. 3DHFR is much smoother than any other 3D, therefore there would be no problems with the film being jumpy.
As a consumer, I don't want to get nauseas when I go to the movies. Although it is very unlikely I would ever go see a 3D movie, I don't want to get nauseas if I do. I don't know if there was something wrong with the projector playing the movie in New Zealand, but it sure doesn't sound likely to happen.
What happened that made people so nauseas? Why hasn't it been reported anywhere else but New Zealand?

Looks Like the Film Industry Is Fighting Over the Rights... to Make Porn!
Universal Sues To Stop ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Porn “Rip-Off” By
Universal sued Smash Pictures for its production of "Fifty Shades Of Grey: A XXX adaption". Instead of being an adaption, it uses the same characters, story, dialogue, and style as the book. Universal wants all of the copies of the porno destroyed along with the sex toys made along with it. Universal is trying to stop the production of the two porn movies based on the next two books in the series.
This is very unimportant. The only reason I'm taking the time to talk about it is because it's ridiculous. Fifty Shades of Grey IS PORN. There is literally no difference between that book and any other erotic novel. Even if Universal made the movie, there would be no difference between the box office movie and the porno. It is still a porn movie about a woman having sex with a rich man. It is still a pile of smut and filth, and that is undeniable.
As a consumer I want nothing to do with this movie or anything that has to do with it. I do not want to see some vulgar pornography taint the screen of any theater. It's just a book about having a bunch of kinky sex with a rich guy and uses various forms of BDSM in it. It's called "mommy porn" by the media for a reason. It only appeals to the sad, sexually depraved mothers that actually read that disgusting novel. Sure it will be big for them, but is just downright disgusting for anyone else. There is a reason why erotic novels should not be made into movies. Movies with a lot of sex are porno, not movies. It's just a grotesque idea that needs to be thrown in the "Disney Vault", if you ask me.
While reading the article, I questioned why they were arguing. Why do they care if a porno was made about the book if the film will be the same thing? If you're making a dirty movie, leave the company that is exposing Fifty Shades of Grey for what it really is alone. I mean just look at how dirty this movie is. Is this appropriate enough to go in theaters?

Money Squandering, Lying, Douche Bag Attempted to Ruin Kevin Clash's Career!
Today the mysterious man that said he had an underage sexual relationship with Kevin Clash, the puppeteer and voice of Elmo, admitted his story wasn't true. Earlier today he said his love life with him was both adult and sensual. Because of the accusers actions, Kevin was given a leave of absence from the show after a full 27 years of service. Now, he isn't sure when he'll return to Sesame Street.
This article is very important, because it has to deal with America's childhood. Nearly all Americans
watched Sesame Street at one point or another during their childhood. When someone messes with the best known character, Elmo, not only do you rile up a crowd, but you have hell to pay if you were telling a lie. You don't mess with the most loved people on children's television. Especially if it's a lie.
As a consumer, I want to know about my past role models, TV show characters or not, because they were very important to me. I don't want anyone trying to ruin the lives of the people who played these characters because it ruins the memories I once had attached to the character.
How long will it be until Clash goes back to Sesame Street? What consequences will the accuser face? Will Clash even come back at all?

WE ARE CYBERMEN, YOU WILL BECOME LIKE US!
Neil Gaiman To Pen Upcoming ‘Doctor Who’ Episode That Marks Return Of The Cybermen
This Spring, the Cybermen will return to Doctor Who. After a long dry spell of no Cybermen, Neil Gaiman is writing the episode that will bring them back. Neil Gaiman won a Hugo award for the episode, The Doctor's Wife. One of the directors from the Harry Potter franchise will be directing the episode, and many famous British actors will star in the episode as well.
This is very important to all Whovians (Doctor Who fans). Like I said before, we haven't had a good Cyberman episode for a while. We haven't had a good Cyberman episode since the Tenth Doctor, we are currently on the Eleventh Doctor. We've been forced to watch poorly developed villains for nearly two years now, except for the Weeping Angels and The Silence. We are in dire need of a good old fashioned Dalek or Cyberman uprising.
As a Whovian and a consumer, this is a very critical in getting our views. For us, we hate the bad episodes, such as the recent western episode. I want to see more Cybermen and Daleks again. They are what helped me come to love the series and what made Doctor Who the most well-known British show to date. With the increase in appearances of these villains, maybe we could boost the views in America once more.
All I can think about right now is why we haven't gotten a preview of the season yet? Will the Cybermen have new suits? Will the Doctor be able to foil their evil plans once more?

George Lucas is a Sellout and Star Wars is Left in the Hands of the Evil Mouse Corporation!
On Tuesday George Lucas did the worst thing he could have ever done to his fans, he sold Lucasfilmsm, Industrial Light & Magic, Skywalker Sound and video game company LucasArts to Disney. He got $4.05 billion for this deal. He said, "For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next...It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers". Disney now plans on taking Star Wars into various TV shows, movies, and theme parks. Yes, I said making movies. They will release new ones every 2 or 3 years.
This story is extremely controversial. George Lucas has just sold his very own creation that he made from the ground up with his own two hands. The worst part is that Disney is going to ruin his epic saga, Star Wars. They are basically going to put it into a theoretical juicing machine, milking every cent they can out of the franchise. They are going to flood the world with more Star Wars then we want, and therefore make us hate it with the upcoming new movies, which are destined to fail.
This seriously affects me as a consumer. I was already pissed off by all the edited rereleases of the original Star Wars films. Now they are going to make brand new ones! Who in their right freaking mind would ruin a perfectly good saga! Nobody felt the need to add to The Odyssey, so why does Disney think they have the right to ruin a finished Epic saga? I hope the movies suck, because I refuse to see any of the new ones!
George Lucas I need to know something? Why are you such a greedy self-centered bastard? Why would you give away your birth child and every good thing you've done in your entire life to a company that was started by an evil, racist, man? Do you even care about the fact that your good name is gone? Do you care that the new films will suck?

Oh yeah one more thing. George Lucas, I hope you regret giving away your creativity for money and end up like that stupid KONY 2012 founder. I hope you lose everything jacking it in San Diego.

Flavor Flav Takes A Stab at Love
Flavor flav arrested for assault with a deadly weapon
Flavor Flav was arrested Wednesday around 3:30 am. Police came over a domestic dispute, and was later accused of throwing his fiancée to the floor twice and chasing her 17-year-old son around with two knives. He was arrested and his court date was set for early thursday. Heis being charged with assault with a deadly weapon and a misdemeanor battery-domestic violence count, and can be given a minimum of 6 years in prison.
This story isn't as important as it is shocking. America knew he was a fairly stupid person already, but not this stupid. Making his way into tv with his show, Flavor of Love on VH1. He is a well known rapper, but just made a bad decision, maybe even worse then his horrible Las Vegas resturaunt, Flav's house of flavor. He has now hit rock bottom and their is no watback up.
As a consumer, I'm happy that he's in jail. Not only does this get a dangerous person off the streets, but it gets rid of any more horrible reality shows with him in it. Maybe with his show canceled, more and more could be canceled too. This could clean up America's crappy taste in reality tv.
While reading this article, all I could think of was that he's probably getting another show because of. Do you think he would be given another shot?

Battlefield Bad Company Is Coming to TV
Fox To Develop Action TV Series Based On Video Game ‘Battlefield: Bad Company’
Today EA Games scored big. Their hit game Battlefield: Bad Company got picked up by Fox today in hopes to make it into an hour long show. Just like the game, it will follow Private Preston Marlowe, Private Terrence Sweetwater,Private George Gordon Haggard, Jr, and Sergeant Samuel D. Redford in their comedic quest. The show will made by John Eisendrath, Sony TV, and studio-based Happy Madison.
The reason this is so important is because of the fan base of Battlefield: Bad Company. Personally, it is in my top favorite games of all times, and at the time it came out it introduced a new style of war game. The fan base is so large that I don't doubt that a single fan of the game will miss it. This game had the potential to bring a new wave of war shows to television.
As a consumer I want to see this show. I want it to be great and inspire the sam love I had for the game when it first came out. This also effects me as a future filmmaker. This show can lead to a bright new future of video game-based shows. This will potentially open up many doors for writers, gamers, and filmmakers alike.
What I desperately want to know is how this show will turn out. Will it be a bad representation of Battlefield: Bad Company, disgracing its name, or will it shed new light on a virtually untapped market?

Mitt Romney Hates Children
Big Bird's fans tweet after he's targeted in presidential debate
During the Presidential debate last night, Romney had some very disturbing news to tell America. He stated, “I’m going to stop the subsidy to PBS. I’m going to stop other things. I love Big Bird... but I’m going to stop borrowing money from China to pay for things we don’t need.” Romney wants to get rid of PBS and all of the amazing shows on these stations. Although PBS being cancelled is a serious concept, there was much more hype about how Romney hated Big Bird and all of Sesame Street.
This is very important to the American public. Romney and his Republican buddies have been trying to get rid of PBS for years. They think that it is drastically affecting America's debt is greatly effected by the small amount of about $444 million a year. The truth is, out of our $16 trillion of debt this small $444 million is but a mere speck. It literally changes almost nothing.
The fact that Romney says, "I love Big Bird" sends a bolt of hatred through my very being. PBS was my childhood, and I still watch other PBS programs to this day. As a consumer I particularly love to watch Nature, Nova, and American Experience. Many people around the country love PBS and he just wants to take it away. Not only will almost every child in America hate you because of this, but many adults will too.Seriously, what the hell Romney?
What i really want to know is how can you say you love Big Bird if you essentially want to kill him and tear down his home along with it? Do you really not care about the American people enough to let them keep a station that makes them happy?

Wake the F**k Up
Samuel L. Jackson’s Wake-Up Call For Obama
Warning video may be N.S.F.W. and does contains profanity, but for a just cause.
Samuel L. Jackson recently released a new pro-Obam video that bashes Romney. The video was done with PAC (Jewish Council for Research and Education), which is funded by George Soros' son Alexander. Many famous actors support Obama and the Democratic party, but he is one of the more famous ones. It is now going viral, and being played all over, spreading the message of Romney's evils and hopefully gaining more support for Obama.
I honestly am a Samuel L. Jackson fanboy, and love most of the films he has been in. When I saw an article that promised me a wake-up call for Obama by Samuel L. Jackson I knew I just had to read it. The fact that he made such a witty, storybook, video that actually targets the lazy Americans that won't even vote for the betterment of our future is really funny. He just states "Wake the f**k up" and people listen.
As a consumer, I can see a trend in these videos of celebrities supporting candidates. First it's that crazy Republican Clint Eastwood and now it's Samuel L. Jackson. What's up with all the celebrities?
I really don't want this to be a big thing in the industry. It may be a good thing for the candidates, but look at what could happen. We don't want the less desirable celebrities such as let's just throw some names out here, Paris Hilton and Hulk Hogan, representing a political party. That would just be a shame.
I really want to know what will happen with these celebrity promotional videos. Will there be more? Maybe could it even become a big thing in the near future? We may not know, but let's hope that it doesn't turn out that way.

Prometheus Released Digitally, 3 Weeks Early.
20th Century Fox launches early digital release of 'Prometheus'
Fox is hoping to boost the sales of their movie "Prometheus" by releasing it early. They will release it digitally, three weeks earlier than its DVD/ Blu-ray release. It will be under $15, a big discount compared to buying a DVD or Blu-ray. It will be sold through Itunes, YouTube, and Google Play. Fox is the sixth major studio to rent and sell their movies digitally before their DVD/ Blu-ray release.
This article important, because it shows the struggle of a dying format. Let's face it, DVDs and Blu-rays are a dying format. In this day and age, nobody likes to keep a physical copy of a movie that takes up space, except for a select few. I mean I realize that "Prometheus" was an extremely bad movie, and that Fox will try to milk as much as they can from it, but that just isn't right to spur the death of a format.
As a consumer, the availability of DVDs and Blu-rays is dwindling. With more and more cheap online downloads of movies, people just don't want hard copies. People are just too stuck in their digital lifestyles to accept something that seems old-fashioned or outdated. There is no money to be made in DVDs and Blu-rays in this day and age so movie studios are really cutting back on them.
Reading this article, I wondered how long it would be until DVDs and Blu-rays stopped being made all together. What day and age will we have all our movies streamed to our computer? One final thing, who the hell wants to see prometheus anyway? It literally was one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Universal Will Make More Franchise and Animated Films
This is a very drastic change for NBCUniversal. If they focus on animated and franchise films, there will be little room for change in that studio. They will be so focused on these films, that they might stop making films of other genres completely. This can also potentially be the downfall of NBCUniversal too. If people become sick of these franchises or animated films, they might stop seeing Universal's movies all together.
As a consumer, I personally hate most animated and franchise films. Animated films are aimed at children, not adults. They fail to entertain most adults and teenagers. Franchise film are ranged at a pretty wide audience, but are usually dull and unentertaining, or they just get too repetitive. A perfect example is "Prometheus". It was a prequel to the "Alien" franchise, but was poorly written and thought out. These kinds of movies just aren't in my list of things to see. As a future filmmaker, It drastically effects me. With the more franchises and animated films being produced, it leaves less room for original films to be made. This makes it much harder to get hired, let alone make a major motion picture at Universal.
When I read this article, I couldn't stop thinking about the downward spiral the movie business has taken in the past few years. What happened to originality? We deserve better than this. Hollywood seems to only accept sequels, prequels, remakes, and fairytales nowadays. I mean seriously, who thinks it's a good idea to make "Jack the Giant Killer","Red Riding Hood", or "Snow White and the Huntsman"? Hollywood is making crap, and it saddens me to see it in the shape it's currently in.

The Toronto International Film Festival Is Back!
Toronto Film Festival: Let the buzz begin
The Toronto International Film Festival starts today, and will go on for the next 11 days. During the next 11 days, about 400 films will be played. The Toronto International Film Festival has been the start of a lot of peoples careers. The first movie playing at the festival is Joseph Gordon-Levitt's new film "Looper". Many big names in Hollywood will be competing for will be fighting for media and Oscar exposure.
This is important, because this is where a lot of today's famous actors and directors got their start. Many big names in Hollywood such as Ben Affleck, Tom Hanks, and Paul Thomas Anderson will all be competing against each other. This is one of the places where films can stand out and be a bit more edgier. This is also the place where these films begin to compete for Oscars. This is why the Toronto Film Festival is so important. It allows movie makers to freely express themselves.
This has a great impact on me as a future filmmaker and a consumer. As a consumer, I personally like watching good films. The films at this festival are all different from the super tamed big box office movies. These movies are artistic and actually have meaning to them. These are the kinds of movies I'd like to go see. As a future filmmaker, I really hope that some day I can submit one of my films in the Toronto International Film Festival. That could be my ticket into Hollywood, or even the road to my first Oscar.
While reading the article, I kept wondering if I would ever get the chance to participate in this festival. Would my friends help me make the film? Or would this be payed for by a large studio? All I know, is that I definitely plan on entering it some day.

KSL-TV Is A Homophobic, Mormon Church Owned, Cable Provider
KLS-TV is an NBC affiliate in Utah that banned to show the upcoming show The New Normal playing on their channel. Jeff Simpson, CEO of the station’s parent company said that, “For our brand, this program simply feels inappropriate on several dimensions, especially during family viewing time". This made Ellen Barkin furious. She went on her twitter and said they were "blatantly homophobic" because they will play a violent crime show such as Law and Order but not a comedy that has a gay couple in it.
The reason this article is important to me is because in this day and age there is no room for racism, sexism, or homophobia. We all know that the Mormon Church that runs the station is homophobic along with all other religions while were at it. This is unacceptable, even though they have the right to do this, they shouldn't. If you think Law and Order is an okay show to air, with all its corpses and murders, over The New Normal, then there is something really wrong with your station.
As a consumer I am disgusted. If I were living in Utah I might want to watch this show. Unfortunately, I wouldn't get the chance because it is banned on KLS-TV. The fact that they banned a show for having a gay couple just sickens me.
What I would like to know, is why people are letting bigoted stations like this still run. Why hasn't anyone protested this? I mean I can't believe that they are just getting away with this. And this also raises one final question for me. Why are we having a church run a major station?

Legendary Pictures Closes Their TV Division Without Making A Single Show
Legendary Pictures closes TV division
This week Legendary Pictures ended its development deal with Warner Brothers, thus ending their TV division, which had only started in January 2011. Former AMC executive Jeremy Elice, who was running the TV division, will be exiting the company as a result. It was rumored that the company closed do to lack of sales and no shows being made. Legendary Pictures says that they will get into TV someday, but not until they feel they are ready.
This is important because Legendary Picture's TV division could have made a great line of series. They could have easily taken one of their many famous movies such as The Dark Knight, Where the Wild Things Are, or even Clash of the Titans into a popular TV show. Instead, they created a division that didn't even make a single series.
As a future filmmaker, this really just puts me at a disadvantage. Everyday the gap to get into the film/ TV industry gets smaller and smaller. With another TV division closing I lose another opportunity to get hired in the future and that gap continues to shrink.
As I read this article, I kept wondering how much money does the film/ TV industry waste. Shouldn't they only put their money into things that will make a profit? It's just weird to think that they most likely hired a lot of new people for this TV division and nothing happened. It's really disappointing to think that some fresh talent could have been passed up just because this division was shut down. I guess that's just money obsessive hollywood for you though.

Fox Searchlight Abuses Intern's Rights
A lawsuit was filed against the Fox Searchlight, by two interns, because the studio violated the employment laws. Interns hired to work there were not paid, even though they were required to fill out I-9 forms, sign confidentiality agreements and were deemed "employees" covered under workers' compensation laws. The interns are looking to expand the lawsuit to the 20th Century Fox as well.
This article appealed to me because an intern may not be doing the most glamorous work, but they should at least be treated respectfully. They should be paid what the law requires for their work . If they aren't payed for it, then it is free labor and against the law.
There could possibly be a humongous impact on me as a student/ future filmmaker because eventually I will be an intern. I don't want this mistreatment of my rights if I have an internship with one of the various film studios. If they are going to treat me like an employee then I should be at least be paid minimum wage for it.
This information really makes me wonder what the film industry thinks of interns and new faces in the business. What if other film companies mistreat their interns? I personally believe they should look into the other studios and crack down on them.
